1. Acceptance of terms

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using safesignals.io, skimguard.io, the SkimGuard iOS and Android apps, the SkimGuard B2B portal, the public SafeMap, or any other Safe Signals LLC product or service (collectively, the "Services").

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Safe Signals LLC.

2. Services

Safe Signals LLC provides wireless safety technology products including:

  • SkimGuard — a mobile application that uses patent-pending Bluetooth signal classification to detect credit card skimming devices and provide safety information to consumers and businesses.
  • Muster (when launched) — a fireground personnel accountability system for fire departments, providing offline-first, peer-to-peer mesh sync for incident management.
  • safesignals.io — our company website and information platform.

Use of specific products is also governed by the applicable subscription agreement executed at sign-up, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. In the event of a conflict, the subscription agreement controls for matters specific to that subscription.

3. Account registration

To use certain features of the Services, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and keep it updated.
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials and not share them with others.
  • Notify Safe Signals immediately of any unauthorized use of your account at [email protected].
  • Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.

Safe Signals reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws or regulations.
  • Reverse engineer, disassemble, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code or underlying technology of any Safe Signals hardware or software.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services or related systems.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any Safe Signals system, account, or data.
  • Use SkimGuard scan data or the SafeMap for commercial purposes without a separate data licensing agreement.
  • Submit false or misleading skimmer reports with the intent to harm a business or mislead other users.
  • Use Muster in a manner that violates NFPA standards, applicable fire department regulations, or that endangers personnel safety.
  • Resell or sublicense the Services without a separate written agreement with Safe Signals.

5. Subscriptions and billing

Certain Safe Signals Services are available on a subscription basis. Current pricing is available at safesignals.io and on each product's respective website. By subscribing, you authorize Safe Signals to charge your payment method on a recurring basis at the interval you selected.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • Prices may change with 60 days' prior written notice to your account email.
  • You are responsible for all applicable taxes.
  • No partial refunds are provided for unused subscription periods except where required by law or as stated in a specific product's guarantee policy.

For SkimGuard consumer subscriptions, billing is managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play and is subject to their respective billing terms. For business and Muster subscriptions, billing is managed through Stripe.

6. Intellectual property

All intellectual property rights in the Services — including websites, software, hardware designs, patent-pending wireless signal classification technology, trademarks, logos, and documentation — are owned by Safe Signals LLC.

These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Services during your active subscription for their intended purpose. No other rights are granted. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any Safe Signals content without prior written permission.

Community-contributed data (such as SkimGuard scan reports) is licensed to Safe Signals for use in improving the safety network. You retain ownership of content you create but grant Safe Signals a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and display it as part of the Services.

7. Disclaimers

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. SAFE SIGNALS DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE.

Safe Signals products are detection and alerting tools. SkimGuard uses commercially reasonable efforts to detect skimming devices but does not guarantee detection of every threat or prevention of every fraud loss. Muster provides software infrastructure to support personnel accountability — it does not replace department policies, training, or operational judgment. The department is responsible for personnel safety decisions.

Alert delivery depends on device connectivity, third-party carriers, and network conditions. Safe Signals is not responsible for delays caused by factors outside its control.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SAFE SIGNALS' TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICES SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS PAID BY YOU TO SAFE SIGNALS IN THE THREE (3) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

In no event will Safe Signals be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, loss of data, business interruption, personal injury, or property damage — even if Safe Signals has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, Safe Signals' liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Safe Signals LLC and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:

  • Your use of the Services or violation of these Terms.
  • Your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual property or privacy right.
  • Any false or misleading report or submission you make through the Services.
  • Any claim that your use of the Services caused damage to a third party.

10. Termination

Safe Signals may suspend or terminate your access to the Services immediately and without notice if you materially breach these Terms, fail to pay amounts owed, or engage in conduct that Safe Signals reasonably believes poses a risk to the Services or other users.

You may terminate your account at any time by cancelling your subscription and contacting [email protected].

Upon termination, your right to use the Services ceases immediately. Sections 6 (Intellectual Property), 7 (Disclaimers), 8 (Limitation of Liability), 9 (Indemnification), and 12 (Governing Law) survive termination.

11. Changes to these terms

Safe Signals may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page with at least 30 days' advance notice. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you may cancel your subscription before the effective date.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall first be submitted to informal negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in Wyoming. You may only bring claims in your individual capacity — class action proceedings are waived.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm.
